Terms

Terms of service.

The agreement between you and Mistiq when you use mistiq.ai, the app and the iOS app. We've kept it as short and plain as a legal agreement allows.

Effective October 8, 2026

The short version

  • Your mail stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run your mailbox.
  • Mistiq is AI. It can be wrong, so you stay in charge of what goes out, and you're responsible for mail sent from your account.
  • Don't use Mistiq to spam, deceive, harass or break the law.
  • It's early, invite-only and free for now. We'll give you notice before that changes.
  • You can leave at any time and take everything with you.

1. The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and JP LeBlanc, who operates Mistiq (“Mistiq”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Mistiq, you accept them, along with our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you use Mistiq for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. Your account and address

  • You must be at least 18. Accounts are by invitation, one per person, and for you alone.
  • Keep your passkeys and the email address you sign in with secure. Anything done from your signed-in account is your responsibility. Tell us right away at security@mistiq.ai if you think someone else got in.
  • Your @mistiq.ai address is yours to use while your account is open. We don't sell it, and we won't give it to someone else while you have it. We may reclaim an address that impersonates a person, brand or Mistiq itself, or one used to break these terms. If you close your account, the address stays reserved for a year and may then be released.
  • Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in email current. It's how you get back in.

3. Your content

Your mail, attachments, drafts, rules and everything else you put into Mistiq or receive there (“your content”) remains yours. You give us a limited permission to store, copy, process, show and transmit your content, including by having AI models read it, only as needed to run Mistiq for you, keep it secure, and as our Privacy policy describes. That permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups, which expire within 30 days.

We don't claim ownership of your content, use it to advertise, or use it to train AI models. You're responsible for having the right to send what you send.

4. Mistiq acts, you decide

  • Mistiq reads your mail as it arrives, and suggests, sorts and drafts using AI. Its summaries, dates, promises and drafts may be incomplete or wrong. Check anything that matters before relying on it.
  • Mistiq doesn't send mail on its own judgement. Every message an agent writes waits for your approval, or for a rule you set that allows it. Rules are yours to set, change and switch off (Mistiq → Rules).
  • A message sent by an agent without your approval of that specific message carries a short note saying so. Don't remove it or make the agent pass as you.
  • Mail sent from your account, whether you wrote it or approved it, is your responsibility.
  • Mistiq isn't a lawyer, doctor or financial adviser, and isn't designed for emergencies. Don't depend on it to notice something urgent in time.

5. Acceptable use

Use Mistiq only lawfully and in good faith. You may not use it to:

  • Send spam, bulk or unsolicited commercial mail, or mail to purchased or scraped lists. Mistiq isn't for marketing or mass mailing.
  • Phish, deceive, impersonate anyone, or misrepresent where a message comes from.
  • Harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or send content that exploits children, incites violence or is otherwise illegal.
  • Send malware, or try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours.
  • Probe, overload or disrupt Mistiq, get around its limits or safeguards, or try to make its AI act against its rules. Good-faith security research under our disclosure policy is welcome.
  • Resell Mistiq, or use it to build a competing service or to train models.

We may limit sending, hold a message, or suspend an account to stop abuse or protect others. When we can, we'll tell you why and give you the chance to fix it. Report abuse coming from a Mistiq address to abuse@mistiq.ai.

6. Agents and services you connect

You can let outside AI agents into your mailbox, connect services such as Étincel and Humble & Kind, and connect a calendar. You choose each one and what it may do, and you can disconnect it at any time. They're run by others under their own terms. We're not responsible for what they do with what you give them, but we hold them to the limits you set inside Mistiq. Whatever an agent proposes still goes through your rules and waits for you.

7. The service, as it is

Mistiq is new and changing quickly. We may add, change or remove features. We'll give notice before removing anything you rely on, when we can. We work hard to keep it running and your mail safe, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or deliver every message. Mail can bounce, be delayed or be filtered as spam by others. Keep copies of anything you can't afford to lose: you can download your mail and data at any time.

Mistiq has limits: messages up to 25 MiB in and 5 MiB out (larger attachments are sent as links), and up to 50 recipients per message. We may set other reasonable limits to keep the service healthy.

8. Fees

Mistiq is free during this invite-only period. If we start charging, we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead, and you can download your data and leave before paying anything.

9. Ending

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. Where it's safe and lawful, we'll tell you first and give you time to download your data. If we ever shut Mistiq down, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can export your mail and move your correspondence elsewhere. Sections 3, 7, 10, 11 and 12 survive the end of this agreement.

10. Warranties and liability

To the extent the law allows, Mistiq is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising from your use of Mistiq. Our total liability for any claim relating to Mistiq is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived, including under the consumer protection laws of your province or country.

You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims by others caused by your content or your breach of these terms, except to the extent we caused them.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [Province] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to its courts, unless the law of your place of residence gives you the right to bring them where you live. Before going to court, write to us at support@mistiq.ai. Most problems are solved faster that way.

12. Everything else

  • Changes. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can leave before then. Continuing to use Mistiq after that means you accept the new terms.
  • Notices. We'll write to the email address on your account. You can write to us at support@mistiq.ai.
  • The whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy policy are the entire agreement between us about Mistiq. If a part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent. We may transfer it to whoever takes over Mistiq, who must keep its promises to you.
  • Language. The parties have required that these terms be drawn up in English. Les parties ont exigé que les présentes conditions soient rédigées en anglais.
